For example:

Lets say you got your girlfriend pregnant and wanted to gather input from others in the forum. Would you want people to make fun of you? Or make a joke of the situation? No, you would want serious opinions and that is why you would post it in "On Topic"

Another example:

You're looking for advice on new home purchase or looking to buy some real estate...
