Hey guys

im getting a compustar alarm put in on saturday, i was wondering if anyone has one of these alarms installed in there lancer. A question i have can the alarm be installed not to work with the power locks. I was reading up on the alarm and you can program it to auto arm and off when walking up and aways from the vehicle. It would work perfect with the fast key technology, and i was hoping to save some money by not having them tap into the power locks and trunk.

I'm sure that they can add or delete any options or functions...just ask before they install it to make sure. Make it know to them as to what you want so they don't screw things up & you have to take it back there at a later date to have things redone.

So i got the alarm put in today. I highly recommend the compustar alarm to anyone who is looking for a good alarm for there lancer. I have it set to when the car reaches 15km all the doors lock, when the car is put into park all the doors unlock. The alarm auto arms when walking 3 feet away from the vehicle and disarms when getting back within 3 feet of the car again, it makes it feel like your retaining the factory fastkey entry.

Very cool, thank you for the input!

I never had the best of luck with alarms in the past. Something always went wrong with them & I turned out to be the guy where the alarm would go off for no reason annoying everyone in ears reach.

So I haven't added another alarm to my past 3 cars. Attention would be car thieves. I did say that I DON"T have an aftermarket alarm on my car.
Please steal mine ASAP & don't bring it back!
Therfore I would be forced into getting a new one...pref. the Rotor Glow color!
Possibly in the Ralliart

Is this a passive alarm system (no remote), because I have FAST and I want to keep that, but I don't want to have two remotes on my key chain. Thx

You need to have the remote with you to disarm, and arm the vehicle. The alarm will arm when you get 5 feet away from the vehicle, and disarm when you get 5 feet close.

Just for clarification, were you referring to the Compustar remote or the stock remote. Also i plan on getting a remote starter installed too. Not sure how that will work with out FASTKey system.

You need the Compustar remote for the auto-arm/disarm and the FAST key to start the car.

Only way to get around it is to have the FAST key hidden somewhere inside the car. This way, you can keep the Compustar remote on your keys and the door will unlock when you get close. When you walk away, the Compustar alarm will bypass the stock alarm system and lock all the doors with your key inside.

Problem is... if somebody tries to open the door, the stock system might kick in and unlock the doors. I'm not too sure about it.
