ok... im almost done with all the chrome on the car (blacking all of it out).. except the pieces on the doors below the windows... any advice as to what i should do to black it out? idk if it comes off easily and dont wana try... im trying some vinyl tomorrow after work. open to any tips/advice.

The trim below the windows remove fairly easily, I havent done it on my Lancer yet, but its pretty much the same on any car. There may be a screw or two on either end. Look very carefully as it may be hidden. After the screws are removed, the trim pulls streight up. The only problem is you need to be very careful not to bend the trim. Auto body supply stores sell a tool for about $15 or $20 for this very purpose. If you do remove it, just remember to be very careful and take your time.

debadged trunk except for the mitsu emblem (layed some black vinyl over it) and painted the front mitsu emblem along with the grill. ill post some pics up later. and thanks for the help awg0020. ill look into doing that

took it off. only thing on their is the trunk button and mitsu diamonds

I'm doing the same thing. Painted the front chrome and emblem black. Painted the back diamond emblem black. Painted the fast key button on the truck black. Painted the calipers black. Adding black key hole plugs. (and if anyone saw it before I added some orange-red lancer gts vinyl, but I have since removed it) I'm really into the whole black on black on black look. I'll post pics tomorrow, by the time I was done it got to dark to get a good pic.
Tarmac Black for the win!! :)

guess i should have mentioned my car is rally red huh? haha sorry for all the confusion. it still looks f***** nice with no more cheap chrome.

yea the pics were taken on my phone. but mitsu did release a burnt orange color for the 09's looks pretty nice IMO

nah i used vinyl. search ebay for flat black vinyl or go to a local sign shop and ask for some.
