OK, I just finished installing the Mitsubishi lower grille garnish on my ES. I think it looks great. It's just too bad this $5.00 piece of plastic sells for $150.00 at Mitsubishi. :P

Anyway, here are the pics:

It's a Mitsubishi part, so I got it from my dealer. I got a 10% off coupon in the mail and used it to lower the exorbitant price just a bit.

Installation is a bit of a pain. You have to remove the bumper and drill a few holes. But it's not absurdly difficult.

Maybe if you black out the middle part and then the very bottom part it could look original and unique, because you seem to be the first i have seen with this done.

My dealership is asking 425$ for it installed... A bit ridiculous if you ask me... How much of a pain is installation??? would it be worth saving the 225$?

I'm interested to see what it would look like if you blacked out the middle bumper

I've thought of doing that but it takes a lot of aggressiveness away and gives it more class, in my opinion. I did a rough photoshop of the blacked out grill with your garnish.

(IMG:http://i38.tinypic.com/9h6e50.jpg)

I think you should leave it as is. Mixing both looks (aggressive and classy) gives it a sort of undecided look.
