It's done because the 2g MAF gives more accurate readings at higher airflow.

Yeah, but the 1g guys can go strait to the GM MAF if they want to. It's just MUCH cheaper to do the 2g MAF mod, and that's all 90% of the street DSM's need anyway.

we use the mas because it flows more air then the stock mas. the stock can handed about 250hp where as the 2g mas can handed 400hp. the wiring is easy compare to the gm mas. but the gm mas can handed even more power but the wiring is a little harder.

note we do not use the 2g throttle body because it flows less air. and on top of the the size of it is about 60mm compare to the 1g's 65mm

it is the 1g is more of a bottle neck compare to the 2g's elbow

So lets just humor ourselves. If we're going for the ultimate stock upgrade it would be...
6 bolt crank, 6 bolt rods, 7 bolt pistons, 2g maf, 2g TB elbow, 1g TB, 1g SMIC, 1g turbo... anything else to ad? ;)

stock cam performance. there is a list on dsmtuners that have the difference on each year, and what kind of performance they bring out.

6 bolt block, crank, rods, head, turbo cams, intake manifold, 7 bolt pistons,

1g N/A TB, 1g SMIC, 1g BOV, 1g turbo

2g maf, 2g TB elbow (unless using the 1g N/A tb), 2g o2 housing, I think the 2g fpr is a little more accurate too but I'm not 100% on that

we can use 2g upper hard pipe? I cant find it for the 1g anywhere, unless I want to pay out the ass for it. I have all the stock rubber stuff, but come on.

oops, let me take that out of there. I meant the soft one but "technically" you need a larger hard pipe where the BOV mounts to do that. So it's not a "OEM swap mod"
