bought my car since jan 08. so are i have used almost 9000km and no major problems to fix anything so far. So i am happy with my lancer and i think is a very good car.
Just like to share regarding a few things i found on my lancer.
1. the tyres sound very loud with drving. it gets louding on uneven road but will silience when the road is like new or smooth. the tyres are 18in wheel. Bring to my dealer and says all the buyers have the same complaint and says that the tyre thread are big.
2.sometimes will feel that the steering are very tight and feel like the car is very heavy and slow down the car. Send to dealer also and did not find any problems.
3. not sure this depends on the type of motor oil i used. i am using a high performance fully synthetic 79 conocophillips m-oil. Sometimes the engine feels heavy and doesnt accelerate but sometimes it feels like a bird and zoom past everyone.
4. Notice the top part of the engine has oil. Not sure is leaking from some where or when servicing the technician spill some. Dealer says there is no leaking after check.
Would appreciate if you guys can share if you sharing the same experience. thanks.

1.) The tires are 45mm from the rim wall so there isn't much cushion to absorb road noise while driving. The only way to remedy this is with wider tires. Unfortunately, you don't have much room for it.
2.) My car used to do this as well. The steering wheel feels almost as if it locks in place, sometimes it will jerk to the side. It used to happen pretty often, but now with about 8000 miles on my car, the problem seems to have disappeared. No idea why.
3.) What grade of motor oil did you use? Is the car still cold or is it fully warmed up when it feels slow/heavy or when it feels like a bird? The car recommends 5w-20, but you can get away with 5w-30 or 10w-30 in warmer temperatures. Thicker motor oil takes longer to lubricate, which may contribute to the heavy feeling you are experiencing.
4.) The technician most likely spilled some (although they should have used a funnel). It's nothing serious, as long as they cleaned it all up.
