Hello everyone,

I've had my 1998 diamante for 6 months now and LOVED it and I've recently been interested in getting HID lights installed in it but I've read using HID's with stock lamps in cars is illegal or risky because of the glare that is caused by the standard lamps.

I have looked EVERYWHERE for aftermarket projector headlights for my Diamante and I've came here to see if maybe someone here knows of a dealer or customizer that may have carry anything of the sort or maybe a particular Mitsubishi model that also works with the 98 Diamante headlights socket ?


A far cry I know but I am just wondering before I give up on my search.

HI Brian Kit here. My model came with factory HIg Intensity Discharge lighting stock. So how could it be illegal. It is not illegal to do so. If yu are doing an complete HID conversion it is fully legal. Thats why there are conversion Kits. Kits...KongKit thats my name ha ha ha ha..hmmm anyway.

Personal message meeh and i can give yu a person to contact just in that case in teh states. Its my cousin, he has a shop and does many HID conversions and also Projector High Intensity conversions .

But they are legal. Wuts not legal is as per say any higher than wattage bulb over standard wattages liek a 100w low beam in a capsul low beam driving etc and stuff lie that. Also with these HID/SHID conversiona nd Projectors they also require most getting the lamp correctlly adjusted for max vision , especially since they do not need to be aimes as high as standard driving lights.

I don't think I described my situation well enough. Not just stock lamps, I mean most of the older cars come with reflector lamps designed for halogen bulbs and I read its against the law for people to use HID bulbs in reflectlor lamps desinged for halogen bulbs.

I know its legal in Canada as stated by the location I bought my HID kit from(which is still in delivery to my home).


When you say your cousin does projector high intensity conversions I dont understand, if projector high intensity headlights aren't available then how can you do the conversion ?
