Well its coming in the mail, can i just plug and play with a computer of course, but does it work just like a reflash? or is it more like the Cobb access port for the subaru's? Is it worth it? I have the 95 Eprom stand alone computer already in my 95 gsx

do you mean like AEM stand alone? if so, why did you get dsmlink?

Is the EPROM coming in the mail, or did you send your ECU to have it installed?

I don't know about the Cobb but it sounds similar. the DSMLink will have a cable that you plug into your laptop serial port and the other end into the OBDII scan port. It is essentially plug and play but if you don't know what you are playing with you can do major damage

Pwee, Cobb uses an access port to plug into the computer and it has a series of preset Maps from Cobb that you can load to use at your will. Its a great product.

If you don't know how to use it take it to a GOOD shop and have them tune it for you. May cost a bit but it's worth it so your car doesn't blow up.

sounds like a good product. And that answers the original question. No it isn't like reflashin, it's "on the fly" tuning and data logging device. Unfortunately DSMLink only comes with a base map (usually OEM) unless you specify that you want something different when you purchase it.

don't buy a subaru, their transmissions are made of glass. Not that dsm transmissions are much stronger but they have more aftermarket support than subaru

Did you buy the link from ECM Tuning or a different company?

Subie takes assloads of money to make fast. The 4g63t engine has been around forever and the parts are everywhere to make these suckers fast. You need about 3000 and you will own them. Unless you buy the new STi last I checked they were doing 12.8 stock.

A stock bugeye wrx will run 14.6

you can go 12's with about $1000 if you know what you are doing and what parts to look for
