The reason we ask the sellers to do this is so no one get their feelings hurt.
IE: Seller is selling something worth $120 and a potential buyer comes in and sees no price they will either ask how much? or they will lowball the seller.
Asking how much does nothing but clutter up the thread with information that should have been included in the original post.
Low balling puts the seller in a position where they can feel offended and the response can make the customer not want to do business with the seller as they may feel they are being ripped off.
Post a price and everyone wins
IE:
Turbo ECU: $200 OBO.
