Just got my Sept. 2008 Car & Driver magazine.....it says for the changes to the 09's in the GTS trim....they not only get the obvious larger 2.4 engine, but also larger brakes??

Is this true....what's the rotor size up to now?

Could be misinformation on the magazines part....but I am still curious.

The 2008 GTS gets larger brakes and rotors when compared to the 2008 DE/ES. Is the comparison between the 2008 and 2009 GTS or just other 2009 trim levels?

Heres what it says:

LANCER: The GTS trim level debuted earlier this year as an '09 model & comes with a 168hp 2.4 liter inline 4 & larger disk brakes.

Kinda vague....I know that the GTS get larger brakes over the other verisons....but I wasn't clear if for 09 they made them larger yet or not. I am guess not.

Rear Rotors, the DE is the smallest and ES and GTS are the same size.
Front Rotors are in increasing size.

Everything is on the Mitsubishi website.

As for the initial question...
No, the rotor dimensions have not changed from year to year.

Cool, thanks for the reply. I didn't think so.....the magazine was pretty vague...but I thought it would be pretty cool iof they already upgraded them for 09.

Here are the rotor sizes for the 09 Lancer. Anyone got the 08 sizes?

DE/SE/GT
Front: 10.9" Ventilated Disk
Back: 10.3" Solid Disk

GTS
Front: 11.6" Ventilated Disk
Back: 11.9" Solid Disk

For some reason I thought the 08 ES had read drum brakes. Am I wrong?

ES has rear disc brakes. The 2008 sizes are the same as the 2009.
