Ok I just bought a Stage III Head from Slow boy racing for my 99 eclipse RS and was wanderin what you guys thought. Its 100% hot tanked and fully pressure checked. It has SBR 5 angle competition valve job, SBR stage III port work, New valve stem seals, New stainless steel undercut valves, New valve guides, Crower springs and retainers, and a Fully decked Head srface. I was also wandering how much power that will give me. I also bought Headers a 2 and a 1/2 inch down pipe, high flow cat, 2 and a 1/2 inch catback with muffler and 4.5 inch tip, and Axis mod Sevens 18" wheels and tires. Still got to get the lowering springs but let me know what ya think. Thanks

damnit why do people always say "headers" you have a single "header" more commonly known as an exhaust manifold! Sorry for sounding mean but I can only take the same mistake so many times. The ONLY time you have "Headers" is when you have an engine in the V formation, because, obviously, there are 2 exhaust manifolds, AKA HEADERS.
Anyway, on topic:
I think you just spent a shitload of money on about 50hp if that.

if he's lucky. I never understand why people go crazy with heads when they aren't racing. IMO it's a waste of money because with the right turbo, fuel and a TOTALLY stock 420a head, intake manifold and throttle body you can make 400whp if the bottom end is built to handle it. Sorry BJ I don't mean to be a douche, I just think you could have spent the money on something that will make more of a power difference p.s. why are you shaving the head? it's already been flattened, thats what they mean when they say the head has been "decked"

QUOTE(BigJohnson9796 @ Aug 5 2008, 06:05 PM) and I wasnt plannin on getting cams and cam gears but i dont guess it will hurt.
all that head work with stock cams is like pissing in the wind. Cam gears are over rated Please do post your dyno results, i'm very curious and hope i'm wrong, but try not to can't cheat if possible :P Don't put up the results after the turbo and say that the head increased you by 100hp. dyno it before the turbo with just the new head and bottom end. my guess is that with your new head, and new bottom end, with stock OR bigger cams, no turbo, and pump gas you will be around 100 - 120hp at the wheels. It would be awesome if you got higher! BTW, what are you using to tune?
