Sup guys/girls! I've been reading/browsing around this forum for a few weeks and just signed up.

Coming from the Los Angeles area and I just bought my new 2009 Lancer GTS CVT in Tarmac Black Pearl.
Completely stock but mods coming soon. I'm still recovering from the down payment and the first payment I just made :) . I used to have a 99' Honda Accord but I didn't do much to it. This car though, I don't want to get to crazy with it, but I look forward to some modding.

First of all I plan on tinting the windows, then getting an intake, exhaust, and other performance parts.
I got the sun and sound package, the rear-wing spoiler, and the accessory package.
Here are some pics!

Sucks... the 2008 GTS comes stock with the rear wing spoiler. No $250 markup

I'm just yanking your chain though, I wish I had the 2.4L in my 2008 GTS... then again, I wish our cars came in V6's too.

You'll hear a lot from the people that responded in this topic... including me.

Welcome aboard! Feel free to ask any questions that haven't been asked yet (which means, please use the search feature).

Thanks all for the welcome.
Yea, I've been using the search function already since some of the more common questions were already answered.
I'm happy with the first car I've actually bought, my old Accord was actually given to me when I graduated High School.

Well like I said, first order of business is tinted windows.
Hopefully I'll get them done this weekend. I'm going to call some local shops and get some quotes. I'm thinking 35% in the front windows and 20% in the back windows + winshield. Not sure if I should stick with one shade all around though. I'll updated if I get anything done though!

p.s.
off-topic: im glad the dodgers have manny ramirez! needed that bat in the lineup. im big on sports and stuff and I had my baseball stuff in my trunk when I took that pic.

Yeah, noticed that.

Have you searched the topic of tinting w/ the streaks and stuff that is going on with our windows?
If not look into it.... unless they included the smooth material on the inside rubber part of the windows w/ the '09s.
If they did fix that issue w/ the '09s, pls let me know.

Yea, I've read the scratching issues some people have. I'm still going to tint the windows and ask the local tinting shops to see if they've come across this issue and a maybe a solution. I checked out my car where the top of the window touches the rubber and there is a smoother strip along the rubber, where it would touch the window. I haven't seen an 08' so I can't compare. I wouldn't call it as a complete smooth surface, but it does feel better than the actual rubber. Can any other 09' confirm this?

Not at the top bro.
The rubber seals at the base of the window, where the window comes out of the door when u close it.
On the '08s the part that touches the outer part of the window glass has a smoothness on the rubber.
And the part that touches the interior side of the window (that the tint is on) does not.

You can roll down ur window and feel to see if it is smooth on the part that will be touching the side of the window that the tint will be on.

The scratch issue is present on the 09 model. Most tint shops here refuse to tint our Lancers since its the most stubborn car they came across and the felt doesn't help either. The one's that do tint here in the GTA (Toronto, Canada), offer no lifetime warranty. And they say the most effective result was from cutting the bottom rubber and applying felt. That's what i ended up doing. Scratches will occur but after a couple of months (3-5months).
