As some of you might know, I'm looking into purchasing aftermarket wheels.

After doing some research and reading various posts, I concluded the following aftermarket wheel size would be a perfect fitment for 08+ Lancer GTS

Diameter: 18
Width: 7.5
Offset: +45
Bolt Pattern: 5x114.3

When I say perfect fitment, I meant our 18' 215/45/18 would fit into the wheel, and there should be no rubbing between the wheel and the car.

Am I correct? Is there any other factor that I should also look into?

Theoretically, yes the stock GTS tire will fit that rim size. But what's the point of keeping the stock Dunlops when most places will offer you a great deal for rims and tires as a package?

That and it's easier to sell 4 rims with tires than just 4 rims. If you're keeping the GTS rims as winter rims, then you're going to have much fun swapping the tires out twice a year.

Hey Willy, I see you live in Chicago so there's probably some snow up there like Boston. What kind of tires you got to go thru snow storm?

I use to have Kumho ECSTA ASX on my Mazda 3 and they're great for Winter.

I actually kept the stock Dunlops because they are "all weather tires." Note the quotes... they are pretty bad in the snow though. I'd get stuck in just a few inches of the stuff. We had a pretty bad snow storm back in January of this year (6+ inches overnight) and the tires were just terrible. No grip in the snow whatsoever. The 18" GTS rims are too wide to handle snow.

Your best bet is to swap them out with some 16" wheels with winter tires on them.

Does ES wheels fit on GTS model? In particular, the 09 model.

Yup. Everything between all the 2008 and 2009 models is completely swappable. This is the main reason why some people get a DE and just build it up into an ES or GTS.

The Enkei RSV that I want to order doesn't have the +45 offset. The only size that they have right now is the following

Diameter: 18
Width: 7.5
Offset: +35
Bolt Pattern: 5x114.3
Center Hub: 72.6

Do you think it can go onto my 09 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS with no problem? I have heard the brake is bigger in 09 model then 08 model.

Nevermind, I made up my mind. I told the sales guy that I don't want it in that size.

I'm now going with this

Diameter: 18
Width: 7.5
Offset: +45
Bolt Pattern: 5x114.3

willy.. your def right about the lack of traction in icy weather. I live in newfoundland and when i got my car there was snow etc. its not overly bad but its clearly very hard to drive when its freezes at night!

I'd have to agree with getting the 16s and some thicker tires.. most potholes come out in winter!!!

I didnt even know they raced those.

The purchase is finalized. I bought it from Out Performance Shop for $950 shipped including hub rings and lug nuts.

Pretty good deal, I say...

I was going to get the Enkei RSV for $700 shipped but it was out of stock after I made the order so Dan from Out Performance Shop work out another deal for me with these Five-Axis S:6 wheels so now have to pay an addition $250.

I'll post pictures when I received the wheels and post pictures after installation. Stay tuned...
