In my 95 3000 GT the dome light works great if I press the "on" button. It turns off if I press the "off" button. Great. But, the other button, "auto" I guess, doesn't seem to work. I open the driver side door and the passenger side door and nothing. Is there a seperate fuse for the door switches somewhere?

Mine does the same thing, but only on the drivers side. the passenger door gets the light to come on. However, when I "****le" the rubber boot on the "B" pillar there is a "switch" that tells the door when it is open, the light comes on. I am about to order a new one and if it solves the problem I will let you know. If you need more descrpiton or pics let me know

Oh, ok thanks - I'll thrown in a new clutch then.... J/K

My lamp under the hood doesn't light up either. I changed the bulb, but that wasn't it. I messed with the lid switch a bit, but that didn't seem to be it either.

Prior own of the car put in an alarm system - I wonder if they they snipped the wrong wire.

Greg,
I haven't pulled the switch apart, but I did wiggle it a bit to no avail. Let me know how you make out.

T  he door switch is not easy to spoil, it may be only due to the contact point corrosion. try to apply some corrosion remover to the switch contact point. and also remove the corrosion on the chassis if any. try it maybe you can save some monies.

The hood light only works when the parking or headlights are on.

As for the door switches - I took them apart and found them to be coroded inside. I was able to repair the driver side one... It works too!

I have a '98 GTO (jap model) and my dome light wont come on at all, even when pressing the on button. Is there a fuse somewhere to replace for this?

leave your key in the ignition, and open the door. does the red light on the door come on? If not, the door switch is messed up like mine was.

I coudl always turn my overhead on manually. Your bulb up there might be blown.
