I replaced the rear rotors on my 2004 diamante a few months back. As you might know, the emergency brake is a drum brake, the drum being the inside of the rotor. You have to stick a screw driver through a port on the rotor to adjust the ebrake.

I adjusted mine as tight as I could while still being able to turn the rotors by hand.

The e-brake doesn't really even work now and at slow speeds I have a "squeek-squeek-squeek-squeek-squeek-squeek-squeek-squeek-squeek-squeek-squeek".

how do you properly adjust these?

As we do kno yes thats where the handbrake is and that is how to adjust it. Are yu going in the correct way?

Maybe yur handbrake shoe is overly worn.

I think my problem is I didn't tighten them enough. I figured the hub should turn freely, but I just pulled the rotors on another car with the same setup and made note that the hubs don't turn that easy when the hand-brake is on.
