Hey guys im new to the forum. I just got a 09 lancer gts about a week ago. Unfortunately, a week is all it took for my speakers to blow out. Everytime i play music at around 30+, the sub now makes an annoying rattling noise. I maxed out the volume for the whole week that i had it too. Does anyone know if it's under the warranty? Could i get my sub fixed or replaced at no charge? I just can't believe the speakers blew out on me that quick. Thanks.

I think it should be under warranty.

This thread might give you some insight.
Sub Distorting

Good luck!

Yup.... they are.

I replaced my Sub two weeks ago.

$0.00

Get some new ones.
A guy told me he replaced his sub 4 times already, he said you get 3yrs of warranty of the RF speakers.

Someone else said that there is a writeup on the amp and it needs to be adjusted, but i'm not sure...
when you talk to them to let em know you need the speakers replaced, inquire about it.
I'll see if I can find the post about the writeup on the amp
At work now, I'll check around when I hit the crib.

Call ahead and let them know you will need your speaker(s) replaced.
If there anything like my dealership, the parts WON'T be in stock.
So they will have to order the parts after they take a look...
Then you will come in and get them put in.

My tweeters are starting to go... especially the passenger side... It's annoying, I will have to get that replaced...
I haven't had issue with the sub yet, but I never run it at power level 6, it rumbles the trunk and annoys the crap out of me :P

Strong suggestion, keep it at 25-29 vol level, with the sub punch to a +3, full bass & full treble :P

Unless you have aftermarket sound system, then by any means go all out.

who maxed out their system? iono if you read correctly, but i rarely ever had the speakers on max. infact, i've been keepin the volume under 30 with the punch at half since i bought the car. iono bout you but theres obviously a problem if speakers blow out at around 30 when the max is 45. the dealership believed it was due to a faulty sub. you deserve a punch in the face for jus assuming shit.

And if moderators edit your post, it adds a nice little "Edited by" in the bottom of your post.

The only mods in the 2008 Lancers are Rob, SixFeetDeep, and myself. And personally, I don't spend too much time posting in the audio forum because I don't know much about aftermarket systems and stuff.

I just hang around to keep the place tidy.
