Just an FYI-----If there is forecast for hail in your area put your lancer in a garage or under a carport. I live in Northeast Ohio and we had a major hail storm last week my poor lancer was sitting out in the drive uncovered. When all was said and done I had $5000 worth of damage that includes labor. Thank god for insurance!! they replaced the hood, driver side door, roof sheetmetal, deck lid and rear quarter. this was not a fun experience at all!!!

Dude... seriously... pictures.

I mean, what's the point about bragging that you got $5000 worth of hail damage without pictures?!?

We're a community, we all share the pain... it just makes it easier when we can see the pain.

ugh! Is it seriously that easy for our cars to get chipped up...just from one dang hail storm?

So lame. I have 6000 miles on mine and dont have any chipping anywhere yet..but I've only driven it from march to present...so it's not like there has been any bad weather so far.

I will be PISSED if my car looks like crap after its first winter:(

The pics did not come out that great I could not get a good angle on it. It looked like the dimples on a golf ball all over the car. I just thought i would share the experience with you guys and warn you that these cars can not withstand major hail storms. My buddy has an explorer and he did not have one dent in it and it was in the same parking area.

My wife's 07 Outlander has about the same amount of damage from 90 MPH straight line winds, they still havent decided what they are going to do with it because the body on the ENTIRE driver's side, hood, and tailgate pretty much needs to be replaced.

Yea that sux, the adjuster said if the passenger side was the same they probably would have totalled it. The appraisal is $14,500 on my car and I did get the gap insurance so I would have been covered if not I would be very upside down on a new car.

Totalled it? That's a bit harsh since all the damage is just cosmetic, but then again... this is a new car and OEM replacement parts for it will pretty much be as expensive as the car itself.

Man that Sucks... Don't know about you guys, but I do find the body a little soft... panels seem just a littl weak to me... still love the car though

The panels have a LOT of give. When I was installing my shark fin, the surrounding area of the antenna would sink right in when I was applying the adhesive. The hood does this too in some areas. The trunk is the only metal part of the car that seems to be pretty sturdy... and that's saying a lot.
