My 2001 Galant GTZ is giving vibration in steering wheel when i apply breaks. has rotor gone bad ? rear and front all rotors needs to be replaced ? Does it require to replace the pads also ?

How much does it cost to change the rotors ?

Thanks lot.

Yes in ded yu have a case of severly warped rotors. Especially , if yu are feeling it in the steering when when applying the brakes , the front rotors are warped , and need immidiate replacment , the rear i am sure have sum warpage also being they are solid and the front are vented and have warpage to this degree.

My steering wheel used to vibrate like crazy when pressing on the brakes too, so I bought rotors from R1 Concepts and they are good to go and now everything's peachy. You also want to buy some ceramic pads, they last a bit more and cool faster than regular ones. Not to mention that they eliminate the annoying squealing from braking. :gunsmilie:

must be your driving habit.

have the same feedback from the Acura TL forums about rotors warping yet on all my cars, none exhibited warping...

I'm going on my second set of front brake pads on the current rotor with no warping. make sure you bed the new pads during the break in period and not JAM the brakes like most novices do.

i dont know what you have on your car, but it could also mean bent rims on the front of your car if your have aftermarket rims or low profile tires. Just naming all the options instead of just the obvious.
