ok, first question.

what would cause my car to run really rich? If i wash my car on monday, by friday my back bumper is almost black from the exhaust. What could this be?

second question.

while im driving and i have to brake. I hit the brake pedal, and when i do the RPM needle jumps and all my lights dim? but just for a split sec. and i hear a "tick" from inside the car when it does it. any ideas?

and last question.

I have oil in my car, i know i do. I just changed it. but my oil pressure guage isn't working? YES, its connected! thats the first thing i checked. But still no oil pressure is reading. What could this be?

Answer to question one. Check for boost leaks.

Question three. Your sending unit could be bad.

the tick sound could just be the brake light switch on the pedal. have you noticed any brake lights not working?

there will always be some soot on the bumper depending on where the muffler exits. what mods do you have?

Did you vent your bov to the atmosphere? I have seen that before. You vent it to the atmosphere and whenever your bov pops off, it runs rich and will shoot a little black smoke out, and also almost kill on you.

That and if you don't have an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator with that 255, you need to get one, because your fuel pump is overrunning the stock fpr. That can make you run rich too.

Well, unless you have a blow-through maf configuration on your car, it needs to be recirculated like it was stock. Problem solved.

ok will do. only problem is that my intake doesn't have the tube for the recirculating bov.

Well then you are going to have to get one or use your old one because until you hook that up right, or hook up a GM MAF with a MAF translator in a blow through configuration.

It's whatever you want, the GM MAF setup will probably run you around $300 or so, but is capable of more power than you stock 2g setup.

A good new intake pipe with the hole to recirculate will run you around $100. But your stock MAF is really good for about 400 - 450 hp.

It depends on what your HP goals are. Either option sill fix your problem.

The cheapest option would be if you have a good metal intake pipe, you might be able to drill a hole in it and weld a piece of pipe onto it to allow you to hook up your bov to it.
