The white smoke if I remember correctly happens when you have a radiator coolant leaking into the engine?

I might be wrong though. So someone else should confirm this.

you are correct.

whit = coolant

blue = oil

but the blue smoke is only blue tint so some people jjust dont notice the blue.

EDIT: Also if the oil is in your exhaust you are gonna see blue tinted smoke. Once the oil is all burnt up it should go away.

As for the RPM, your IAC motor could be on it's way out, so it isn't keeping your rpms where they need to be. Mine was doing the same thing. I got a block off plate for like $15, put it on and adjusted the butterfly (the thing the throttle cable connects to) until it idled a little lover than 1K. I haven't had a problem with it since.

As for the smoke.... Is it the blue tint? Have you been checking your coolant? is it getting better or worse or staying the same?

My alt went out on my gsx and it would bogggg down in gear... lights would dim if turned on..

And I always thought if there was white smoke, that meant there was coolant in the motor.... meaning a blown head gasket that would make a car slooooow.

Test the alternator and battery at pepboys or autozone. They do it for free :)

Double check that smoke. If its blue, it should go away (if not then oil is still burning) if its white keep your eye on your coolant reservoir. You may have a head gasket leak.

^^ good point. Clean out your IC and IC pipes. There will be loads of oil in there if you had a blown turbo.

Take the intercooler and intake pipes to a spray and wash and blast them with pb blaster then the soap and then the water. then make sure they are clean and dry before you put them back on.

+1 I would leave the intercooler in the sun for at least 4-6 hours to make sure it all dries up.

You don't wanna hydro-lock your motor trying to make it run right ;)

That would suck! And blow the sucker out with a good strong airhose before you sit it our in the sun too.

That should go without saying, but I figured it would be safer to say it.

You can clean all sorts of stuff with PB blaster and a coin op' spray and wash.

Intercooler pipes
Intake manifolds
Oil coolers... ect Just make sure everything is dry before the stuff goes on your car.

mine would do that when i turned on the headlights a couple weeks back. i thought it was the battery, got a new one then it did it again in a few days...it turns out that my battery cable clams were to big for the battery posts, and i just needed smaller ones so it would tighten better...easy fix for me, hopefully same for you ;]
