First off, does anybody NOT recommend i buy it? I've loved eclipses since i could say the word "Car" but ended up getting an old behind rx7 because i was young and it was in my bank range. Now i'm older and i STILL don't want the rx7 but i have come across an eclipse for a great price but the catch is it has no O/D. Will this be a problem at all because the seller didn't do a good enough job explaining this to me. Please help me with this A.S.A.P.!!!!!!!!! -Thanks In advance

And does it have front and rear disc brakes?

and by O/D, I am assuming it's an auto? If you don't plan on modding much, you'll be ok, but once you start putting a little power to it, you are probably going to run into some issues. Damn slush-boxes!

Drive it. If you are happy with the power, you'll be ok. If you are saddened by it, go find a GS-T or GSX with a manual. Hell, even an rs or gs with a manual will be an improvement, because at least then, you can mod it with some confidence.

I will tell you this now, an rs or gs (which is what you have) with an auto in it WILL struggle to go over 100 mph. That is, if you even hit 100.

Yeah, I am pretty partial to the 95-96 body style. Too many people do the 97-99 conversions.

which is kinda funny, because i often stray over 100 on accident.

if you want my 2 cents, i would say hold off on buying that eclipse and wait for one thats in almost-perfect condition. back when i was looking for an eclipse, any transmission issue whatsoever was a dealbreaker. transmissions are expensive to repair, and i wasnt going there. also, its just a gs. ive been there too; i bought a 1g 2.0L talon before my GSX, and it was a good car, but i just never quite felt satisfied with it. without the turbo, it just didnt feel complete. i would wait for a turbo if i were you, GSX or GST, it doesnt really matter. if yer gonna get a non-turbo, at least wait for one thats in great condition; without potential transmission problems.
