Hi I am new to Mitsubishi brand, already afraid that I got the lemon, with seeing how people's paint is peeling off driving on streets that aren't devoid of tiny rocks and sand...

Questions:
-- Any of the same paint peeling problems with 2009 Lancers?
-- Can I prevent paint damage on the front of my GTS? Mudflaps seem not to be available, and I wonder of there are any "Aftermarket" mudguard kits?

-- After I bought the car I called into dealership, and guy said, he is going to get my Lancer next day... to an Other dealership. Next day I call and they say its his day off. I talked to someone else, they talk to the "Manager" and they say, that the car is maybe going to be in next week or Week After. But he assures that they already located a car. I ask where, he says its in transit and he doesn't know. So is there still a shortage of GTS models? ... And how likely is that dealer is jerking me around? I need a car ASAP, and I can't seem to get any clear answers from them.
Worst comes the to the worst:

-- How much of my 1K deposit can they withhold? :unsure: Because at the end of next week if they dont have the car yet, I am going to get something else. :( I love the looks of Lancer, but i think I will be content with VW Rabbit as well, as long as I don't have to wait any more "next weeks for sure".

Paint on the 09s are the same as far as I know. Some people seem to have more of a problem than others. You can get an extra insurance on the paint from Mitsu, but I don't know what it does for you (I didn't get it)

Now then.... did you sign any paperwork? If you did that kinda sucks for you. Once you sign the paperwork, you're stuck. However I don't know about Canada, but in the US you have something like 24 hours to reconsider if they are not satisfied I think, dont't quote me on it.
Never every sign anything unless you're driving away with it that day! Were you getting a certain color or something? I would go in there tommorow and demand the delivery that day. Tell them you'll drive with them to go get it or something. A few days to get it should be enough time.

In addition to mud flaps you can also look into applying clear protection film onto your car. That's what I've on my car right now.

It will be an addition couple hundred dollars though. I pay $495 US dollars for it, and that includes hood, front bumper, fender, back of the side mirrors and the front / rear splash area.

Dealer might not have this service available, you might need to look at else where; however dealer might be a good source to ask for referral.
