This may be a stupid question but.........
Is there any difference between a short ram air intake, and a standard?
I am looking at buying a cheap e-bay intake system, mainly for the pipe (I am going to put a K&N air filter on it. Pipe is pipe) and am just wondering if there is a difference between the two.

Short ram and cold air are both better than stock. Short ram will free up some space in the engine compartment, and cold air will look better (I think so anyway) but drive through a deep puddle with a cold air and kiss your engine goodbye. Pipe is pipe tho. I'm surprised how many people are getting ripped off.

No, bypass only saves you from small puddles. Not large puddles, slightly flooded roadways, and winter snowstorms.

I sucked up more water with my short ram then I ever did with my cold air intake that had the filter in the bottom of the front bumper.
