Guys,
Anyone in NJ able to Reset my 1994 3000GT's SRS Light?
The Dealers want $100.00 , but won't reset it unless they also fix something....
The previous owner said that the SRS light would come on at least once
a year, but there was never a problem.

year: 1994
make: Mitsubishi
model: 3000GT
mileage: 120000
trans type: 5-speed
recent maintenance: Blower Motor and Radiator
recent modifications: none
other modifications: none

Any Help would be appreciated.
Thx,
Andy

Nearly every single 3/S I've owned has an SRS light on, regardless if they were in an accident or not. The dealer couldn't reset the SRS light on my dad's stealth, they needed to replace the sensors, etc, etc, etc. Not worth the money to reset a light that doesn't really do anything. Your airbags should still work just fine, if you ever need them

How do you unplug the light?

Lower steering wheel, unscrew 2 phillips screws in cluster trim piece, unscrew 4 phillips screws around the sides and bottom of the cluster, pull cluster out, flip it up and slide it out towards the passenger side, twist out the bulb behind the SRS light

Do you have to remove the odometer knob or does it slip through
the hole in the Cluster clear cover?
Thx,
Andy

Pretty sure the SRS is a thing that only the dealer or dealer approved shops can play with.

when I 1st had my car the srs light was on, I had to remove the front wings to do repairs and I disconnected the red srs connector block under the wings, when I reassembled the car and reconnected the srs blocks each side the light went out and has never come on again, if you decide to disconnect the blocks make sure the battery is disconnected 1st!

Also wait about 20 - 30 minutes for the system to uncharge as it still has power for a little bit as a safety just incase the battery is destroyed in an accident before the the impact gets to the sensors.
