i was having the same issue and it was the ignition cables one was bad and it would misfire, also you hay want to use some seafoam through the vacume line and let it burn out all the trash out of the engine, just beware of where you do it because it does smoke alot... this helped me with the sputter at high rpms when accelerating...

Misfire FTL!

change your plugs and wires. odds are its your wires, but ALWAYS change them both at the same time.

You guess wrong. You can work through the rough spot but your plugs are probably fouled out and the wires are probably cracked.

NGK plugs and the best quality plug wires you can afford. And get your hands dirty.

i agree with BRM do a full tune up. that will usually help things such as this. and some other problems that you might be running into

All of us use K&Ns lol.

EDIT: Also, if you just installe new spark plugs, make sure they are gapped correctly. no doubt its a misfire and dirty/bad air filter will NOT make your car misfire it will just make it idle irradically.

I use the big K&N filter, its got like a 6.5 x 4.5 inch hole that feeds my intake pipes.
