I have another issue.............lost the wheel key that allows the lugnuts to be removed from the wheel. Can I go to a local Mitsubishi dealer and get a new one?

doubt it. you will probably have to pound a thin wall socket over them to spin them off or drill the studs out and replace

+1 with what pwee said.
Just buy a a new wheel install kit. Comes with all new lug nuts, new key, and new valve stems. Have your local tire place remove all the old lug nuts, and install the new ones. Old ones will be destroyed in the process.
I had the same problem with my car when I had new wheels and tires instaled. Install kit runs around $20 or so. Buying a new OEM key from the dealer, would probably cost that much for the key alone.

They have tools out there that can remove the lock lug. and then get rid of them. How much would it suck getting a flat and not being able to change it.

Uhh. alot.

This one should do the trick
http://www.ecrater.com/product.php?pid=2390132
Then get one of these to replace the ones you don't have the lock for

Is it s real "lock" or just the special mitsubishi lug that's suposed to look like a wheel lock? My 99 eclipse has the later. If the little adapter isn't with your jack, I be the dealer can get you one. They're generic.

+1 with jon! But you should be able to get one through the dealer. If it's made by McGard then you will be able to get a replacement key!

I still think you should just get a complete wheel install kit for about $20 (20 new lug nuts, key, and four valve stems that you can keep for whatever), unless you want to keep the locking lug nut for some reason.
If you insist on keeping the locking lug nut for security, trust me, that lug nut is not going to mean squat to anybody that actually WANTS to steal your wheels and tires (my buddy had his stollen, at night, with the car parked in his driveway. He came out in the mornng, and his car was sitting on 2X4's, with the alarm still armed, kind of funny when you think about it, but he was not laughing).
Just walk into any BigO, Les Schwab, or other major tire store, and tell them you need a: Pacer, IK303 wheel install spline kit. Should be no more than $20.

^^^ There you go ^^^
It's true, wheel locks don't actually stop someone from stealing your rims, just kinda slows them down. But there's no need to get the (factory) part when you can get something from the aftermarket for half the price that works just as good or better. Personally, I took the wheel locks off of all of my cars. I think they're more trouble than thier worth (Loosing keys n' such) and replaced them with another lugnut. But I live in N.E. Pennsyltucky, not Compton. Your situation may be different. I don't have an alarm system either. Just a dog that hears everything and a closet full of guns :gunsmilie:
