Hello, All!

I have a '90 Montero with the 3.0 engine. It's a great work vehicle for me but gas prices are making it tougher for me to drive. I'm getting 15mph right now. There are a lot of miles on the old girl (about 208k) and it's time to re-do the valve guide seals, timing belt, and maybe head gasket (does that smoke look a little white?).

It depresses me to think about doing all that work for a rig that's going to sit because of gas prices. So, I've been toying with the idea of adding a hydrogen booster. My only issue is that I don't know how to lean out the fuel mix. Do I put in an 02 sensor simulator? Any help is appreciated!

Do a search on HHO MAP or MAF and it will explain how and what is done to adjust the A/F ratio. I'm not 100% convinced that this is a good idea as I have built my own HHO generator and am experimentating with the controls. So far I haven't seen any MPG or performance improvements on my 92 Toyota MR2.

Although there may be something to the HHO theory I would seriously look at ethanol and possibly distilling your own alcohol for fuel. This is a proven method and will work well with your vehicle. Do some research and come back to me with some questions.

Jim
