Hello Folks,
I own a '01 Diamante and my horn is broken. I took it to a friend who said it was the "clock" in the steering wheel. When i called Mitsubishi they were looking at about $900 for parts alone. I was distraught to say the least. Last week i was thinking about it and the horn doesn't work from the keyless remote either. The car has a factory alarm. I have checked the fuse under the dash and the relay under the hood. Both are good and I have also checked the horn itself and it is good. My question is two fold. First, is it possible for the steering wheel to be messed up enough to where the horn won't beep even from the keyless entry or factory alarm? Secondly, does anybody have a wiring diagram of the 01 Diamante or know where i can get one? I appreciate any help you can give me.

First wut yu need to do is , find the horn fuse and check for continuity. Then if that checks out find the horn relay , have sumone simultaniouslly press the horn pad and feel if the horn relay clicks.

If the relay clicks , yu will need to check for continuity ate the horn. And if there is continuity there replace the horn. If the horn does not emit a tone when the keyless entry is used there will most likely be an issue with the horn itself. There isnt that many things inbetween.

The Horn pad and air bag cancel cam (air bag and horn multiconnector :ie clock spring)

there it intersects with the horn out opt before the relay junction. The fuse frum a power source to the relay and then out to the horn.

Ill put up a diagram for the horn for the 96 up Diamante /Magna / Verda

$900!!!! that's rediculous. If you can't figure it out, buy an aftermarket horn and rig it up to a push button. I had one of those compressor type ones with three trumpets in a galant I used to have... it gave a sound that was.... suprising!

Its most likely going to be the horn or the relay. Most likely the horn as i have said.
