Insurance won't cover it? Depends on the look you're going for. It might not look to good if you just do the front or back and not both. Depends on the bumper

still gotta pay a 500 dollar deductible, and then of course my insurance will go up. Most of the aftermarket kits are dual exhaust, and i have a big fat single exhaust

My buddy had the same problem, he had to either buy an after market bumper or have the dealership take care if it. If it was me i would just have the dealership take care if it. GL man

How does your insurance go up if YOU GOT HIT?
That wouldn't make any sense. Your insurance only goes up if YOU HIT SOMEONE.

I mean seriously, what kind of i n s u r a n c e is it if when something happens to you they jack up your rates? Isn't that what's insurance is for? To cover your a$$ when something goes wrong?!

Honestly if they will increase your payments for that tell them to piss off and go with a different company.

I had my entire door replaced, went through insurance. I just payed my deductible and my insurance DID NOT GO UP. As a matter of fact it still went down after my 1st year, because the claim which I made was NOT MY FAULT.

Everything you say makes perfect sense... and I wish it were like that everywhere.
I know where I live... Florida is an "No Fault" state so, it doesn't matter who is at fault.
You both will pay the price.

When we had hurricanes out here, it wasn't our fault, but they still jacked up insurance costs.
Its all on the rules where you live, i guess.

That's insane! They shouldn't be able to do that...
And I feel sorry for you guys in Florida right now... you're getting hammered pretty good by Fay, I keep tracking it. Lots of flooding and damage, tornadoes, massive rainfalls and the damn thing went through pretty much all of Florida... damn.

And honestly, that insurance situation is horrible the way you described :(

This sux. PA is a no fault state as well, however if you get rear ended, the person who hit you still pays. Only thing that raises our premium is an accident that the insured driver caused.

Yeah, the hurricanes really mess things up.
The insurance companies jack up their rates right afterwards.
(because they finally have to cover something, instead of taking in cash)

When we had those 3 tough ones a few years back, the insurance companies raise rates at such a volume that, most of the apartments out here changes into condos, so they wouldn't have to cover the damage once its bought.

I have lowered out my deductables, yeah its a few bucks more, but i'm only paying $130/month w/ $0 comp and $50/collision, so if it ever goes up, at least I wont have to come out of pocket AND watch my rate go up.

I just heard we may have another hurricane coming this way.....
its maddness!!

:offtopic: I know, but yea... Gustav is a massive one, buy the looks of it it's going to hit Gulf Of Mexico and probably mess with the West Coast of Florida...
You guys have had some insane weather during Fay with the tornadoes and such, and that wasn't even a hurricane level for the most part. Hopefully Gustave will die out in the Gulf and won't hit any land, but there is a very high chance that Louisiana will get it pretty good... New Orleans might go under water again.

As for the bumper. I got hit in the front, and decided to go with a stock bumper instead of after market. I just didn't want to have to ship one from the states and then deal with the issues of it not fitting properly and all that jazz...

If your insurances are that bad why don't you guys just deal with minor accidents privately. That's what I'm doing not to affect the guys insurance who hit me. He's paying cash for the bumper and it's all fine and dandy.

I dont exactly know the insurance Rules in Texas but my bro got rear ended and they jacked his insurance up. An old man began to slowly side himself and i thought he was gonna park on the curb to my left so i PUT MY BLINKER ON!, on drove off to his right. He was too old and blind that he pressed the gas from HIS stop turning to the right as i was passing him and slammed my door. Because im 19 it was MY FAULT and my insurance went up. Another of my buddies was leaving a Sonic in his 3000GT TT and while he was waiting for the traffic to pass a cell phone college student slammed into his front left at 50mph. He has back problems his car was totaled and guess what???
IT WAS HIS FAULT! his insurance WENT UP!
