My 1.8 GDI carisma mirage (2001 ) plate car has an intermittent problem it will not rev above 4000 , bet if you do 4000 revs in forth then force the engine to go above 4000 by dropping to Third it will run ok sometimes for days sometimes only for 10 or twenty minutes before the problem reoccurs. I have replaced the spark plugs and this has not had any effect , what else could I try? fault code P0170 shows sometimes!!

Cheers Tom

I looked up a 01 mitsu mirage, and came up with no such code as P0170. Is that the correct application or do you have a different motor in this vehicle?.
