Noise In Rear Left Suspension

Newbie Group: Members Posts: 2 Joined: 21-August 08 Member No.: 63,048 Status: Location: barabdos Drives: 2008 Mitsubishi lancer	hi every one i am from Barbados. i have 2008 lancer. i have had it 8 months now with 12587km on it. i have noticed that there is a noise coming from the rear left suspension when ever i am driving on bumpy roads....i just took it back to the dealership for servicing and told them about the noise. they took it out for a road test to confirm. what they did was tighten the suspension and greased it. it has only been 2 days since then and i have not heard the noise but my question is Should i be hearing such a noise for a brand new car with such little mileage? and would greasing and tightening the suspension solve the problem permanently or is that just a temporally fix? my next question is has anyone else had this problem on this model.

I had and have it happening all the time, I think that's just the way the suspension is designed. Or at least I hope so. Mine always did and still does it quite often, depends what I'm driving over and how fast, at what angle etc etc.

Dealers still haven't fixed that one. Looks like you inherited it. Propable cause would be the left rear strut and bearing on the mount. Definitly difficult to pin point and no way to repair it since if its replaced it will be with the same parts currently on your vehicle. See if they will replace the strut and mount and maybe you'll be set for another 8 months and 12,000 miles. Good luck. :beer:
