am I doing something wrong here? I bought an ebay kit for my exact model, it eas custom pipe and an in the box K&N Air filter and I installed it, everything looks good

(IMG:http://memimage.cardomain.com/member_images/3/web/3135000-3135999/3135536_3_full.jpg)

or if that wont work the engine shot on here http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3135536

anyway, the car feels liek it has LESS acceleration and power, although I LOVE the deeper sound, how could the box produce better power?

am I doing something wrong, the air filter is oiled right it says it is on the plastic covering it..

i am not familiar with the 420a's but I do know that when i had an aftermarket exhaust put on my car, it felt ALOT slower.. I remember i was soooo mad....
then i raced my buddy's car to find that it was actually faster...
It was just the difference in the power band.. i wasn't use to it, so it was less torque and more hp.... i wouldn't doubt that you are experiencing the same thing.

it goes from a pipe that runs horizontally behind the radiator and there underneat the intake, it runs a pipe underneath, you can see it in the picture, and the hoserun up to the intake pipe

wtf thats a short ram!!? wtf whats a CAI then? I thought a short ram was just like an inch of pipe and then a filter...?

Don't know what hose you are talking about, it seems mine is just like yours, the only other hose that my car has is the one on top, that goes to the valve cover, do you have a pic of that?

so thats where it gets the air from, I don't think i have that hose in mine, and i was always wondering how did it get air into the box, anyway, i think you just get air from the bottom of the car with that hose, so i dont' think is very important now, I might be wrong tho

That hose is part of the factory intake system. it basically makes your intake a CAI from factory. like stated above it just pulls air from under the car. No it is not needed.

The 420A pulls air from above the fender well. If you remove the rest of the box contraption crap associated with the stock box you'll eventually find a small egg-shaped hole above the wheel.

My car doesn't have that hose. Being the third owner of the car though one of the previous owners might have gotten rid of the one that was supposed to be on my car or someone could have put that on your car. I don't know off hand.
