Does anyone know what or if theres any differences between the 2.5l dohc motor and the 3.0l dohc motors? both are n/a of course and the 3.0l is out of a stealth and i have now a 2.5l dohc mitsu motor.

is there any difference at all that i need to swap over from the 3.0l to the 2.5l? and what timing belt should i use or will the 3.0l work fine?

thanks

he drives a Talon - maybe he's in the wrong forum. 2.5L - sounds like a 4 banger

or maybe he has 2500GT

They made a 2.5L V6 that looks identical to the 6G72. I forget the engine code. I'm not sure if he is talking about this particular one, but if you are there should be no real differences and the swap should be straight forward. The main difference in the 2.5L engine is the cylinder bore. The stroke is the same. I believe the timing belts are the same as well.

I had a customer come in my shop with one of the 2.5 engines. We swapped in a twin turbo 3.0 in it with no problems. His car was a turd with that 2.5 in it though LOL

The swap is straight forward with no mods needed.

It matters because often new forum members post in the wrong section.

Your first post didn't give the information needed to correctly answer your question as the question wasn't clearly stated.

:offtopic: Yea new to here but im not stupid. I only posted here because there seems to be more members with v6 powered dsm's unlike other forums. The vehicle one owns should have nothing to do with what one talks about, thats why I asked what the differences are, not if its going to swap over or whatever to my talon. I have 1 talon a supra and an accord, soon to have a 240sx or maybe a fd3s, have plentyful knowledge on all of them enough to make them monsters. and by the way it was clearly stated for i only asked one simple question.. :offtopic:

Aside all that now, the motor is ready to drop in so thanks everyone else for helping me figure that out. BTW that engine bay is kinda tight with that in there.. :liebe011:

the question was unclear. get it in your head.

your a new member posting about a 1 in a million engine in a car. this is mostlikely due to a new member being dumb. now you can get all defencive an off on the wrong foot if you want. or you can just say, yeah your right, it was unclear and we can all move forward. oh and just for your information 99% of the posts here are for the members car. so when you talking about an engine that seems to be 4cyl and you own a talon that just leads us to think your in the wrong forum.

And were not here to agrue, were here to moderate. take it or leave it.
