Can anyone help?

Im driving an 1997 Eagle Talon TSi FWD.

Darn check engine light came on. I checked the error code and it's very vague, something about fuel air metering.I went to this mechanic down the street and he plugged some device and he said he needed to keep it to test where the fault is.
Is it the O2 sensor or MAS sensor.?

Thats bullspit. Get your car back. it only takes a few minutes to read the code. After that, having it "plugged in to test the fault" is only an excuse for him to keep the car.

Unless you suspect a short somewhere, then he may be looking to find that.

No fuel mods at all, the rpm at idle is pretty low but it doesnt affect nything. I took the car back so Ima find out what it is.

Fuel metering code could be related to the intake temp sensor?

if you have low idle try cleaning your MAS sensor and see if your idle improves. Not a expert but I think a bad reading from the MAS sensor can trigger a CEL because of the improper fuel/air ratio. If it is a bad o2 sensor your car would run very heavy after driving around a while. My gsx would run great until it got warm and it would just drive heavier and heavier and I put in a new o2 sensor (front by turbocharger) and it improved instantly.

worth a shot
Good luck
Darvesh
