Has anyone else gotten theirs in Tarmac Black?? Did yours just come gloss black and not the color of the car? I emailed them to see... I guess I'll have to wait till Monday when they're open

Hopefully they'll help you out and get you a correct match.

Ok so I am a dumbass.... he emails me:
"Did you take it out in the sun?"
Me: um no....
*walks outside*
Me: well I'll be damned.

I think its b/c its not a large surface area. it still looks funny on the car when I put it on, but I guess maybe if I get a carwash and take it out in the sun it will look better. Unless you tilt it in the sun you can't see it!

I was going to get one in tarmac black, wondering what it looks like now. I can understand how it could be hard to see, when I first got my car it was cloudy and rainy for like a week and it wasn't until almost two weeks later that I noticed the pearl effect in the black, the blue and purple sparkles. But that said, imho, you should still be able to hold that fin in your hand, in any light, and look close and see the pearl effect. If it takes bright sunlight to see it at all, that doesn't sound right. I can look at my car sitting inside my garage, put my face like 6-12 inches away and see the pearl effect. You would think you'd be able to see it on the fin.
Do you have a pic with it on the car? Thanks.

Looks nice, but I see what you mean. The black looks too black, like the gloss or sheen or clear coat or something is off. IDK, maybe its the pics, but it looks too black, if that makes sense. Maybe cause its plastic and the cars metal and the reflective properties of each is different. hmmm...
Thanks for the pics.

sometimes my shark fin looks like it does not match the car color...i think it's because I know that it's an add on...everyone else loves it...and they should because it definitely adds some style

hey i've got a tarmac black lancer too, and i was wondering how everything turned out.

i searched around and saw people were having problems with the back comming up because of the curvature of the roof, and you guys were talking about a color match problem.

now that you've had it for a while, would you say you're pleased with it? i'm seriously considering getting one of these, and i don't want to have any of the problems mentioned above

just wanted to hear your retrospective point of view, if it ever came up in the back or if the color of it has been a problem

oh, and i have a 09 lancer ES with no sat/nav, so there shouldn't be any problems with it fitting right

thanks a lot!
