I had the front brakes done at a local shop and after a few days they started to squeal badly. Two more trips to the repair shop and the noise would disappear for about a week and then start again.
I proceeded to replace the pads and anti rattle springs with genuine mitsubishi parts and it has not improved. It a 2002 GS and not sure what to do next?

Go to an Autozone or something and get some brake cleaner that's in an aerosol can. Spray it on and let it dry. If that doesn't work your calipers may be sticking and causing your brake pads to rub more(not a cery likely cause but it's still a possibility). Try the first idea and if that doesn't work than go to your auto parts store and get some ceramic brake pads. A little bit more expensive but worth it since they leave alot less brake dust than conventional pads do and they give you a little bit better stopping power but hardly noticeable, and they will almost never wear unevenly.
