Coilovers have springs and integrated struts that allow for adjustable ride heights. They give you the ability to change everything from the ride height to the dampening and rebound properties as well.

Springs give you a fixed height and you will generally need new struts when you use lowering springs. If you just want a basic lowering of a car these are what you need.

Lowering springs are what you want if you don't wanna sacrifice ride quality.

However if you don't care about that coilovers are your choice, they give you the best handling but the ride quality is terrible compared to lowering springs.

Lowering springs do improve handling but not nearly as much as coilovers, but as stated before they do give you a better ride quality.

And lowering springs are a fixed height, whereas coilovers are fully adjustable.

Coilovers have springs and integrated struts that allow for adjustable ride heights. As ACIDXFX said, so no you don't need springs they are included

The coilover is your new spring. so yes you do still need springs but that's what the coilover is.
