Has anyone had any experience or heard anything about some cheaper racing seats? On ebay this company called "JDM" sells knock-offs of recaros and other leading brands for $300 for both front seats, but I wouldn't want to take the chance unless I had heard anything about them first. I'm looking for seats or just one seat, but I don't want to pay $400+ for a seat. So any advice or other less expensive brands would be cool

you basically get what you pay for. i got some cheaper seats like you a few years back thinking id save some money. cheap seats wear out quickly. the stiches are not durable, and they start to squeak after a year or 2 of use. at the time i had no money though so it was my best bet. i will be upgrading them when i get the chance though because the edges are starting to fray.

Why go cheap on anything that involved safety?? I just don't understand you kids wanting CHEAP seats and CHEAP brakes and then decide to test those parts at 100+ on the street.

Ass backward thinking.. will it ever go away. Please be smart and start leading a new direction for your peers.

Just for the record, I came to the same conclusion. When I first started looking into seats, I honestly didn't even think of the safety aspect.

thats a big thing i dont understand either. people now days focus on power but hardly touch the brakes and suspension till they realize they need that. what good is all the power and speed if u cant control it.

You're pretty much screwed anyway if you get nailed at high speed in an eclipse. Not much there to stop you from getting crushed. Thats the downside of a tiny light car with no real protection to speak of. I agree 100% with what your saying though.

Good thing iron is so cheap, time to custom-fabricate a complete protective frame!

Just what I was worried about, getting crushed in an accident in my car. Just 15 miles per hour from my friend crushed the steel bumper in the back of my car.

I should reinforce my doors with diamond plate sheet metal, lol
