I have only one key for my 2000 galant, it seems that the id of the transponder in the key and the immobilizer ecu and the PCM are not friends any more. I have the Modis scanner tool but I dont know how to reprogram all three, please can anyone show me how to. Thanks

gulembo,

Hope this information will help you. I'm not familiar with modis but seen it on youtube and on their site, something that it works like a diagnostic instrument that will tell you the health of your car.

As a suggestion, why not go to www.directed.com and type in your zip code (based on your location) to find out a locksmith that can make a duplicate your key. it's a pretty handy specially when left your only key inside the car.

I buy my galant from a dealer as a pre-owned and it also comes with 1 key. The locksmith charge me around $175 dollars for two keys and it is already programmed. Even if you only have 1 key, they can make it programmed on your vehicle.

Hope this helps.

Modis will not help you if you are trying to program a key-- easiest way is if possible bring it to the dealer and just have it programmed--any explanaition as to why the key just unprogrammed..???

if u only had the one key u can get keys (other posts have gotten them from ebay) but to program them u need the mitsu scanner
and the code to access the immobilizer which any mitsu dealer will have...
as far as immobilizer losing code ...yes i have seen them do that (had one lose it while the guy was driving down the highway)..
cell phones, electromagnetic fields...cia beaming signals from satellites....who knows?
