Just to seperate this topic from the Holset Turbo Discussion, I found this as I was browsing for internals:

http://www.importperformanceparts.net/impo...k-chrysler.html

What do you guys think?

As for the rods, I was wrong. The kit I had found does not include the rods. I have looked and looked but can't seem to find any... :/ Any Ideas?

So does this mean, a resurrection of the 1.8 turbo project?

After the end of the project... well.. the motor portion atleast (The first thing I will tackle) I hope to be pushing ~300whp. I feel this is a realistic goal, just have to figure the right way to get there. I hope to have the premature turbo setup (small basic setup without the built engine) and SOME of the engine internals done by April of 2009. after the motor is done I will tackle the rest one area at a time. ;) I am shooting for a spot in a magazine as my top goal.

Lol I would but I pretty much gave it to my brother. I still do little things to it from time to time but yea... Can't sell it now. =(

Just some FYI:
Things that are done to the neon:

-Magnaflow Camaro/Firebird Style Dual exhaust muffler with Magnaflow tips

-12" Type R sub
-Infinity speakers Front and Rear
-Head Unit (I let him pick it out so I forget whih one he got lol)
-Infinity Amp

-Streetglow Cool Blue Xenon Bulbs

- TYC Chrome Tail lights (ACtually look good not too ricy)

- K&N Filter (OF COURSE! lmao)

And I think that's it... Just little things here and there. Haha

I will take some pics of it when I get home. =)

ELC37
$879

really isn't a bad price for a complete gasket set, forged pistons of your choice with rings and all the other stuff. I don't like messing with copper gaskets unless they are o-ringed. do you have engine specs? bore, stroke, rod end bore sizes, etc?

Not yet, but I can easily obtain them. I'm not really gonna worry about it until I get ready to buy the parts.

Well, I am bored in the library waiting for my next class so I thought Iw ould do a bit of searching to find the 4G37 engine sepcs. so far this is all I can find:

1755cc displacement
Eight valves, SOHC
80.6mm Bore
88mm Stroke
78% VE
92 Horsepower

I will keep searching and see if I can find the jorunal diamerter and stuff.

4G63 85mm Bore x 88mm Stroke. The stroke is the same so all we have to do is get those end size specs and that should tell you before looking whether or not those rods are the same as a 6-bolt.

There is a 4.4mm difference in bore, but if you can bore your block .08661" that will put you at the same bore as the 4g63 and you can use someones oem pistons.

if the rods work out, and the bore can be done all you have to do is get a machine shop to put them together and some ARP studs into the rods....voila you have a 500hp bottom end.

I see I see... Well.. with that said, I still can't find the damn journal diameter.. or any other rod specs for that matter. Gah.. Gonna try the dealer later. Maybe they can give me the info. lol

I need to correct my math (I was half off). you would need to bore .1732 over. that's a huge amount but if the block is basically the same as a 4g63 block (just not machined as far on the cylinders) then boring it that far wouldn't make the cylinders too thin.

jon check out this link to the maf conversion

http://my.prostreetonline.com/t1350.htm

it shows how to wire up a turbo maf into a n/t car. i don't know if yours wires in the same as a 2.0n/t or not.
