Hi All,
I just got a 94 vista wagon,
It needs a new auto trans. I need help with either finding a trans or ideas on how to rebuild it cheaply. It does move but you have to rev to 400rpm to go forward or back.
To add to my woes the kids decided to clean the motor and interior WITH THE GARDEN HOSE. 10 minutes later the car is soaked in and out and under the hood and the engine will now not run.. well it started, ran 20 seconds and now will not start. It seems to have no spark?
Any assistance, ideas appreciated please!! :(

Verify that the trans has the correct fluid is filled to spec. If it is, you might want to drop the trans pan and check for a clogged screen. If that doesn't remediate the problem, I guess you're due for a rebuild.
For the no start condition, I'd pull off the distributor cap so any moisture inside can dry. I'd also leave the hood open all day to allow the wires to dry. Often when plug wires get old they become very sensitive to moisture.

Thanks for the suggestions..
The distributor was soaked, had to replace coil and reluctor and all electronics in distributor. Fired right up!
Transmission was opened and all sorts of metal shavings were found.
Used transmission located and installed.
All is good now.

Thanks for advice.
