Didn't think it was necessary for a Lancer, especially since the header is a little higher up off the ground... and we don't have intercoolers...

...

In fact, there's not a whole lot for the skid plate to protect on our cars. But to each their own.

It can protect oil pans from killer speed bumps.

:offtopic: but, back when I was in high school, our rivel school's parking lot had a speed bump that must have been two and a half feet tall. Once I saw an early 90s eclipse go too fast, tore the frt bumper and smash the oil pan. Not only that, but the car was stuck on the speed bump. I couldn't stop laughing for a week. haha

Well either it was lowered or he needs to slow down. Skid plates are for rally cars, or offroading. Its so all the dirt and debris doesn't get up into your engine and protects your internals. It really a waste of money for you to put it on your lancer unless you're taking it off road, which I would not suggest doing.

But hey its your car....

Pics or it didn't happen. :right:

There isn't enough demand for a skid mar... I mean, skid plate for our cars. Maybe further down the line when they start making them for the Evo X, you can steal one of theirs. Everything seems to bolt on the same between the Lancer and the Evo... why not a skid plate?

By the way, if you do off road it, let me know how well the paint holds up!

well my friend's dad owns a body shop. after the first couples weeks of driving my lancer i saw all the chips and nicks and so did he and he told me for $100 he would put a thick amount of clear on but not too much, so there arent very many flaws to the paint yet....

Haha, I wish i had pics. That was about 6 years ago. Oh well. There is a diffrent speed bump near where I live in front of a Lowe's that is as tall as the curb and about 3 or 4 ft wide. Its a perfect ramp for whenever rental companies make the mistake of giving me a rental car. I can take some pics of that! :57:

There is one for the Evo X here, but thats a little pricy for a piece of aluminum. (Its about half way down the page under Exterior - other).
