Head light, high beam: 9005 HB3

Head light, low beam: 9006 HB4

And honestly, I searched amazon.com for hid bulbs, they are ridiculously cheap on there. Mine are by Moonlight Electronics, I got a set for my low beams for $130 shipped. And so far they've been great, they looked exactly how I wanted them, and there's been no issues for almost 8 months now. Hope that helps.

Worthy investment? Look no further than MobileHID. You'll also have to fab the DRL bypass to connect to the battery (the smart method), and the info for that is in a sticky.

I want to pick up a set of 5k or 6k bulbs, but I'm cautious about how much glare is created by the reflector housing on these cars. I wish I could see one in person, but I seem to be the only person doing anything to their Lancer in this city -- aside from putting on those god awful noisy exhausts.

+1 on MobileHID.

I bought HIDs for both my low beams and fog lights and I couldn't be happier. It comes with the wiring harness too so you can run clean juice directly from your battery. If you are getting them for your low beams, then you will need a DRL bypass.

Low beams are 9006 and fog lights are H11. Do not get HIDs for your high beams. Most people only use their high beams for a quick flash to alert other drivers. A true HID kit requires 5-15 seconds to fully warm up. These quick flashes will cause your bulbs and ballasts to fail prematurely.

As for the headlight glare, it's actually pretty bad. I get flashed at least once a day by oncoming traffic. My girlfriend's brother and his girlfriend both complain... "Willy, your HIDs are too freaking bright." But that's price I have to pay to have lighting that is out of this world!

Without Projectors, you'll never get that upscale look. Unfortunately, the halogen reflectors make it quite obvious that they're aftermarket, especially guys who have 10000K HIDS on halogen relectors. Yeah thanks for blinding me a-holes, lol

I got 5000K white from v-leds.com. the bright white works great on my red lancer, and actually looks closer to OEM HIDs in my opinion.

You get what you pay for. If you're shocked that you bought a sub $100 HID kit, don't be surprised when you see their output.

MobileHID.com is the BEST HID kit for the money. lonnieG has had his from v-leds for some time now and I haven't heard him complain yet. Sounds like they're a good bargain too.

MobileHID has been mentioned a few times, but they're not that expensive -- $225 shipped last I checked.

If you were talking inexpensive (Read: cheap), well, I wouldn't suggest that route. There's always going to be a few people that say "I bought mine from eBay through <random_name> and they're still running great!"..

but why? Why wouldn't somebody just wait a bit longer if they had to save up the cash and instead go with a brand that actually has reliability and a reputation? Does one not care enough about their car that they'll chance an important electrical component? </rant>

Hey Willy,

Yeah for 150$, I felt it was a decent mid-point between the pricer MOBILEHID kits and the cheapy e-bay generics. It is a very "slim" and integrated package with good quality wiring and connectors; also shock and waterproof.

The only problem that I had initally, was one of the ballasts had a tendency not to fire on occasion. I think this was due to using them before applying a DRL fix with my factory socket, and they flickered out often.
However, v-leds had it replaced in less then a week and I've been running them day/night for 6 months with absolutely no issues. I drove from Halifax to Quebec City straight for about 10 hours and 900KM's (560Mi) with no issues.

They'll even hook you up with a harness if you ask. MOBILEHID will provide one with their kits automatically (that's a huge plus). Heck, the harness they gave me was already modded, lol.

MobileHID.com is the BEST HID RESELLER. PERIOD. If you want the greatest HIDs for the BEST price, then stop dawdling around here and go to MobileHID.com! I bought FOUR kits from MobileHID.com and each one was fantastic. 2 for myself, and 2 more for my girlfriend's brother and his girlfriend. Couldn't be happier.

V-Leds is the second best... but this is only from lonnieG's experience.
