Im planning on geting a dsm link,but want to know if i have to soilder anything or do I just send in my ecu?

you can socket the chip yourself but it's better just to send your ECU to them. it's a quick turn around

I am an Electronics Tech, and I'll tell you what, for the price they charge for socketing, go for it. It's not that much more if you consider that if you mess up your ecu, you are out $300 at least. If they mess it up, you get a new ecu!

It's worth it to me.

are they user friendly? how do i know if i have a eprom ECU? sounds better to me to just send it in

You can only use DSMLink on an eprom chip.

Yeah man, google it and there are pics of what the insides of an eprom and non-eprom ecu look like.

As a matter of fact, I think there is a guide with all the pictures on the DSM Link website.
