ok, i was working on an 03 Lancer with stock radio. I replaced the rear deck speakers and they seemed to work fine. However a few hours later the stock radio appeared to have died.

i pulled the radio fuse in the yellow clip under the hood and it seemed fine, however, when i got back in the car, the radio had spit my CD out and worked again, but again, a little while later, it no longer works.

any ideas as to what the cause of this may be?

also, this system has a sub and amp in the trunk, and there were 2 wires coming from the sub or amp (not sure) that i left OFF for the time being (the sub currently does not work without these 2 wires attached to the rear speaker) could this have something to do with it? i am not the one who installed the sub/amp so im not sure what those extra 2 wires on one of the rear speakers is.

also, can anyone quickly tell me what the rear speaker wires (colors for + and -) are so i can double check to make sure i didnt reverse them? maybe that would cause this problem?

no i dont believe there is an amp under the seat. the system is stock except for the sub/amp in the trunk and the 2 new rear speakers i installed. however there are 2 wires coming from the trunk (from either the sub or amp i cant tell) that were ALSO connected to the + and - of the rear driver side speaker. i have no idea what purpose those 2 wires serve and was unable to reconnect them.

any other ideas?
