Ok, Just bought my 1995 mitsubishi eclipse for 400.00, and bought a new motor..
for 1500.00 rebuilt it with a stroker kit... new performance clutch ect...nothing major... but i have a 1000 Watt 2 channel sub amp, and a 4 channel tweeter amp both Rockford fosgate. My subs are 2-12 inch fosgate HE2's sealed box... 4-6" kennwood duel mags, and 2-6x9 kennwod basics... Pioneer 200x4 cd,mp3,dvd,ect head unit...I have a 1F Cap....But I Think that when I put this system in my car it will do the same thing as it did with my last 4 cylinder..It fried one alternator and dimmed the crap out of my dash interior lights and my head lights....is there anything better alternator wise or cap wise for the Eclipse.....

Any advice would be nice....

you mean just bridge the cables to a second battery?, one alternator charging both?..think that little alternator could handle that stress? never owned a mits.
eclipse dont know how strong the alternator is....

no no....just put a battery in the trunk for all the audio stuff. you wont need to connect the alternator to the second battery.

wouldnt you still have to have it hooked up to the batter cables on the car or you would kill that batt. has to have a charge somewhere...alot of wattz, its zappin my cap every time i bump once...is there an after market alternator...or a better cap maybe?

the battery cables take the power FROM the battery TO other parts of the car. the charge is already inside the battery and it goes out to the parts of the car. you hook the power wire for the amp to the battery. thats where it will get its power from.

I understand where you going with this im just saying my system is sucking to much power for a stand alone battery I would have to run a positive 8 gauge, and a 8 gauge groung to that battery or it would drain that ballery on the first punch from my subs...I think that this would work but i would still need a 16 volt alternator, to run the batterys...

if you wonder why this is kinda sloppy im at work, I work at a collections agency so im really not supposta be on the net, so im in a hurry when i post....

also i think that your Idea would work. But i still need to find a better alternator....
and i appriciate the input. your the only one trying to help me... so dont think im trying to say your wrong....

hes right, try getting either 2 gel cell batteries, or 2 yellow top " Optima" Batteries,

run them parralel, that with the cap should help alot...A bigger alternator will always help too, if u can find one.. maybe have one rebuilt to your specs....¿

-Replaced my 420a... $900.00... the bottom bearings were shot...brand new block...
-Put a strokker kit in it,300.00, friend owns a auto parts store...
-AEM CAI...
-the rest is stock...
-Not sure what exhaust system.. it has a sprots exhaust but I havent looked at which one...

Besides turbo'in it what else can i do to give it some more power...

use more than one! If you place a battery in the trunk you will need to recharge it somehow. You could also buy a better battery, OPtima (beleive it's called). careful though, sounds like your messing with your electrical to much

STOP, PLEASE BEFORE YOU FRY SOMETHING!
1. to run two batteries and not have to keep taking one of them out to charge oit all you need is a battery isolator. ps. read this post: http://www.dbfanatics.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=671
it should shed some light to your problem
