I emailed them and they just got back to me and said they dont recommend it.

how did you guys get it to fit and if its not going to fit, how come you can select it from the car list they have??

thanks.

Ok I'm not sure what year or model your car is so it is kind of hard to tell you if it will fit or not.... I have a 2008 Lancer GTS. The first time i tryed to put it on it didn't stick because i didn't hold it long enough then it sat out in the rain........ Then i got a new gasket tried again and followed the directions PERFECTLY..... I have the sat radio antenna and it works fine over that...... Hope this helps again don't know the model of your car.....

the atenna on your car compared to mine which is the 08 is the exact same.. where are you looking to get the sharkfin from? www.visualgarage.com those should fit our cars..

If your still unsure go measure the base of your sirius.. max dimensions for the sharkfin are... 0.75" H x 1.5" W x 2" L. and you can also cut out a little bit as stated on their site..

yeah so i just went out and measured it.. its the .75"H 1.5"W and its close to 3"long.

So I would email them again and see how much exactly you can cut out of it...

but like i've seen people with these on their lancers so it shouldnt be a problem?

The back of mine is comming up... did you get the gasket from them or did you buy it from somewhere else?

As for the actual fin, it fit fine over mine, but then again I don't have the satnav

The back of mine is coming off too. It's because the fin itself has a perfect flat surface whereas the roof of our car is slightly rounded. The adhesive gasket isn't thick enough to provide the additional cushion between the fin and our roof to even it out.

Personally, my shark fin is one mod that definitely went wrong. It looks nice and all, but I think I'd rather go back to my stubby antenna.

I emailed Art from visual Garage and told him that i had some crap on the gasket when i got it and that i thought that it would stick anyways and that it didn't and i would like to resolve this issue... He sent me a Brand new one no ?'s asked..... I put it on and have had no problems since...... Sticks in all places and everything.... That is wierd that you don't even have the satnav and it still is coming up the only problems i have heard with the shark fin is with the cars that have the satnav.... I guess my suggestion would to be to email art.... At most you will have to pay Ten dollars for it..... He is very understanding and a great buisness man..... He gets an A++++++++ for customer satisfaction from me..... Hope this Helps :57:

Willy, Not sure if this will help but if nothing else take the fin off and shave the back part where the gasket gose off the fin and make have some conture like the roof of our cars...... Then just get a new gasket and put it back on... .

Actually, to have it contour with the roof, I'd have to shave the front of the fin. Plus, I already e-mailed VG and Art already sent me a replacement gasket, so it's a reoccuring issue. The first time I had the fin too far back, so the front of the fin was peeling off. This time, I decided to move it much closer to the base of the antenna... and now the back is peeling off. The only real solution is to chop up the stock satellite antenna by removing the outer casing. This will thin it out a bit, making it a lot easier to apply the sharkfin.
