Hey guys just had a question, a couple months ago i posted about a rattling noise in the engine compartment when my foot was off the clutch and in neutral. I was told that it was a bad throw out bearing and after "helping"(really just watching) my friend who is a mechanic replace his clutch, he explained to me how all the internals work and so i mentioned my problem and he said the same thing, bad throw out bearing. So now i have driven around with it for a while, it doesnt cause any mechainal issues...just annoys the crap out of me....and now i want to finally fix it.

So my real question is whether i should just buy a new throw out bearing and spend a weekend tearing the car apart to replace it or should i replace the entire clutch assembly? I was able to find a stage 2 clutch kit(includes clutch disc, throw out bearing, clutch cover, and alignment tool) w/ lightweight flywheel for about $450, or i could pay $50 for the throw out bearing?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions/advice!!!

If you're going to pull the transmission to replace something, I always suggest making it worth while and doing a new clutch and flywheel at the same time.

clutch and flywheel, toss in a new trans mount too at the same time. Not worth spending a whole day to do a peice of the cake when you can make the whole thing with little extra effort.
