Okay, so first off I am a new member so let me introduce myself.
My name is Josh, I am from Utah. I am a highschool student currently working on my diploma in my senior year! I first found out about DSMs through browsing AWD coupe platforms. Mainly my interest in this is for power of course! but also the interest in awd cars, and the way they handle.

Moving on to the car I'm interested in, just going to give the description I was given. Since you guys are a bit more savvy with the details I hope to get more input from you =]

INFO-
New set of pistons, which are Wiseco, and new rods which are engine pro. (same thing has manley H beams made in the same factory)

Japanese big 16g Turbo

Evo 3 Tranny no grinds at all

Iron Transfer case

Low mileage rear diff, Kaaz Center diff

Optima battery

Dejon Upper Intercooler Pipe

MAFT translator

Greddy Type RS BOV

palm III with MMCD for knock and Air/Fuel monitoring

ACT 2900 lb clutch with 10 Act flywheel (only 1000 miles with no launches)

EVO III motor

None of it has been dragged, or pulled hard on.

Now for describing complications, he blew the bottom end it seems, but he includes everything to get the car running again.

Here is the official writeup he did

((((I have a new set of pistons, rods, along with a new block to put them in to replace the broken pistons that are in the car right now, EVERYTHING works, it just needs the new pistons put in. The car needs a little love. It has an Evo 3 Motor meaning BIG 16G TURBO, GOOD Evo 3 Tranny no grinds at all, Iron Transfer case, Low mileage rear diff, and Kaaz Center diff as well, Optima battery, A Dejon UIP (Upper Intercooler Pipe), a MAFT translator, Greddy Type RS blow off valve, and a palm III with MMCD for knock and Air/Fuel monitoring. I\'ll also give you a 1000 watt Alpine Amplifier with Two Alpine Type R 12\'s.. the system alone is easily worth a grand. I need to sell this car this week. If you buy it, I may be able to tow it for you.))))

Looks good to me for a price of only 1,800. What do you guys think?

^^^ JuGus def does have the experience in that.

All that "evo 3" talk is bullshit. Its such a selling point to young people like yourself (don't feel bad i almost impulse bought a 97 gst just bc i saw "evo 3 turbo"). Literally all the evo 3 parts are the same as the 1g eclipses and talons (4g63 engine).

EDIT: Mainly i was refering to the tranny, the turbo is indeed diff from our cars.

Drives: 1996 Talon AWD. Built, but no longer drives: 1997 mitsubishi eclipse RS; 1990 Talon AWD; 1995 Talon AWD, 1997 Talon AWD. Seems like a pattern

that's hard to say because those replacement engine parts might not be the ones that are the problem

I would buy it thouh, especially if he's willing to tow it for me but i've also built a few of these cars before

Where you at in Utah? I ask cause I think my wife was looking at that car. We decided against it since we have no place to do full rebuilds.
I think I might stay away, just because of possible huge extra costs to get it running.
Check for other cars like that one on KSL.com and autotrader.com. I saw some good ones last week when looking.
