I had my car in the dealership yesterday, had a few things checked out. Had an interesting experience.. but anyway.. There were a few things that they are replacing on my '08 and I guess they have had to do it to more than a few already...

The drivers window motor - There is a clip or something that connects to the motor to bring the window up and down (I know nothing about this stuff), the clip breaks. If your window makes a cracking noise when you put it down it is most likely because that clip is broken. My fiancee noticed that the clip was broken because we can basically pull the window out of the door when it is partially down.

They had to order a new motor for the door. They said that it is covered under warranty.

Also, my back door on the drivers side is making a whistling noise when I drive, even when I am just doing city driving. They are replacing the weather stripping around the door for me. The manager told me that this has also happened to a few of the lancers. Basically the weatherstripping dries out in the corners and isn't flexible anymore. - this is also covered under the waranty.

The manager was going through all this with me because I have had one hell of a time getting help from the dealership. My car has been in the shop 5 times in the last 3 months because the service department wasn't checking it over properly.

Just thought a few people may find this information helpful.

I had the issue with the whistling, but it seems to have fixed itself. Makes me want to rip all the weatherstripping out and redo the moleskin again.

Thanks for the heads up Melissa.
